On Tuesday, 20 August 2024, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Didžioji street near No. 65, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 645 registered in Great Britain and a BMW 3ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the BMW 645 (20 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
