On Sunday, 1 September 2024, in the afternoon at 12:40, in Ukmergės district municipality, on Vilniaus street, at the junction with Trakų street, a Mercedes-Benz A 170 CDI ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.03‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
