Toyota driver flees after hitting a pedestrian at a crossing at Kvietinių g. and Klaipėdos g., Gargždai
On Monday, 2 September 2024, in the afternoon at 14:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on Kvietinių street, at the junction with Klaipėdos street, a Toyota Auris hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 76-year-old driver of the Toyota (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
