On Sunday, 15 September 2024, in the evening at 19:50, in Šiaulių district municipality, on Daugėlių street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 5ER Reihe and an Iveco. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the BMW (4 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She was drunk (2.83‰ blood alcohol). A 40-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (2.34‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
