On Sunday, 29 September 2024, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Plungės district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 56), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
