On Saturday, 5 October 2024, in the evening at 22:30, in Lazdijų district municipality, Rūdos village, on the Veisiejai–Avižieniai regional road (kilometre 2.40), a Volkswagen Touran rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed.
