On Friday, 1 November 2024, in the evening at 18:20, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on the Ąžuolų Būda–Kazlų Rūda national road (kilometre 1), a Skoda Superb ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Skoda (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
