On Saturday, 9 November 2024, at night at 1:27, in Klaipėda, on Smiltelės street, at the junction with Reikjaviko street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A8 and a Citroen. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
