On Thursday, 7 November 2024, in the evening at 19:50, in Vilnius, on Žvaigždikių street near No. 2, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Signum and a Land Rover Range Rover Sport. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
