On Saturday, 28 December 2024, in the evening at 22:16, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Žemaitijos street near No. 32, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320I registered in Latvia, a car, a Ford Tourneo Connect and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (5 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
