On Sunday, 29 December 2024, at night at 4:15, in Pasvalio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 49.12), a Volvo XC70 registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volvo (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
