On Sunday, 5 January 2025, at night at 23:40, in Raseinių district municipality, Girkalnio village, on the Girkalnis–Pramedžiava–Karakurai regional road (kilometre 1.95), a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.11‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
