On Saturday, 4 January 2025, in the evening at around 21:00, in Kupiškio district municipality, Noriūnų village, on Melioratorių street near No. 7, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 607 and an Audi. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
