On Tuesday, 28 January 2025, in the evening at 17:57, in Plungės district municipality, Vieštovėnų village, on Vieštovės street, a head-on collision occurred. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
