On Tuesday, 4 February 2025, in the evening at around 21:00, in Vilnius, on Ukmergės street, a Volkswagen Multivan hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 76-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (2 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.18‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet.
