On Friday, 7 March 2025, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on A. Jakšto street, at the junction with M. Valančiaus street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Opel, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
