On Thursday, 13 March 2025, in the evening at 20:41, in Mažeikių district municipality, on Žemaitijos street, at the junction with Sedos street, an Audi A6 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 13-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 15-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
