On Saturday, 1 March 2025, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šiauliai, on Gegužių street near No. 45A, a KIA Motors hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 87-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (25 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
