On Monday, 28 April 2025, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kauno district municipality, Ramučių village, on Plento street, at the junction with Centrinė street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel and a Skoda Octavia. Two people were injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 38-year-old passenger of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Opel (28 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.88‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
