On Tuesday, 29 April 2025, in the evening at around 17:00, in Visagino municipality, on the Dūkštas–Visaginas national road (kilometre 8.90), an Audi ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
