On Friday, 23 May 2025, in the evening at around 18:00, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on Vištyčio street, at the junction with J. Basanavičiaus street, at a pedestrian crossing, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Citroen C4 and an Opel Meriva - A. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of the Citroen (26 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.56‰ blood alcohol).
