On Monday, 26 May 2025, in the evening at 19:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 7), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Lancia Phedra, a BMW and an Audi. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Lancia (31 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.01‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
