On Friday, 13 June 2025, in the morning at around 6:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Vydenių village, on the Babriškės–Varėna–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 27.40), a Volkswagen Passat Variant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
