On Monday, 23 June 2025, at night at 23:20, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Noriūnai–Palėvenė regional road (kilometre 1.06), a Ford Fiesta ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 13-year-old driver of the Ford (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.25‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
