On Tuesday, 1 July 2025, in the evening at around 19:00, in Biržų district municipality, Kirkilų village, on Ežerėlių street, at the junction with Sodo aklg. street, a Volkswagen Polo ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
