On Friday, 4 July 2025, in the evening at 18:50, in Šilalės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 245.65), a Toyota Avensis ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.60‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
