On Monday, 14 July 2025, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 21.20), a falling cargo occurred. The accident involved a Volvo FH, a Schmitz Cargobull and a Porsche Cayenne S. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Porsche (9 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. The Volvo had recorded faults (kito konstrukcijos elemento). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
