On Sunday, 3 August 2025, at night at 1:40, in Kaunas, on Birštono street near No. 52, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730 d and a Mitsubishi Grandis. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
