On Saturday, 16 August 2025, in the afternoon at 14:15, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 28), a BMW Serie 5 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
