On Sunday, 17 August 2025, in the evening at 18:16, in Kaunas, on Jotvingių street, at the junction with Rasytės street, an Audi A6 Avant hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 12-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
