On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Tauragės district municipality, Dunokų village, on the Vališkiai–Aušgiriai–Žukai regional road (kilometre 1.38), a Volkswagen Touran ran off the road. One person was injured — a 65-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 66-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (45 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
