On Friday, 29 August 2025, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on Varnių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 D and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
