On Sunday, 31 August 2025, in the afternoon at 14:07, in Šilalės district municipality, Bučių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 238), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault registered in Ukraine and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
