On Monday, 1 September 2025, in the evening at 21:43, in Plungės district municipality, Jovaišiškės village, on Rietavo street, at the junction with Telšių street, a BMW 3ER Reihe ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.97‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
