On Monday, 8 September 2025, in the evening at 17:06, in Kaunas, on Biržiškų street near No. 9, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Prius and a Ford Fiesta. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Toyota (12 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.44‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. A 49-year-old passenger of the Toyota was drunk (2.83‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
