On Monday, 8 September 2025, in the evening at 17:55, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 12), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a Kawasaki, a Renault Laguna, a BMW X5 3.0D and a Seat Leon registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Kawasaki (7 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
