On Wednesday, 10 September 2025, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kaunas, on K. Baršausko street near No. 66D, a DAF hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 64-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the DAF (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
