On Tuesday, 16 September 2025, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Vilniaus district municipality, Palaukinės village, on Molėtų pl., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Ford Kuga, a Seat and a BMW. Two people died — the 93-year-old driver of the Ford and the 32-year-old driver of the BMW. One person was injured — a 31-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 93-year-old driver of the Ford (10 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
