On Thursday, 9 October 2025, in the morning at around 8:00, in Klaipėda, on I. Simonaitytės street, at the junction with Smiltelės street, a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a moped and a Toyota Prius. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 14-year-old driver of a moped, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
