On Friday, 10 October 2025, in the evening at 18:35, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 87), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW 5ER Reihe. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.83‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
