On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Vilnius, on Tuskulėnų street near No. 66, a BMW X5 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 74-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient) and a 73-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the BMW (31 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
