On Wednesday, 15 October 2025, in the evening at 20:45, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 87.79), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Mercedes-Benz. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.28‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
