On Friday, 17 October 2025, in the evening at 17:50, in Lazdijų district municipality, Juozapavo village, on the Lazdijai–Akmeniai national road (kilometre 7.74), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a BMW. Five people were injured — the 52-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 7-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized), a 1-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized), a 8-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
