On Saturday, 18 October 2025, in the evening at 22:10, in Lazdijų district municipality, Varnėnų village, on Lakštingalų street near No. 5, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen and an Audi A4 WW. Audi S4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
