On Sunday, 26 October 2025, at night at 3:03, in Kretingos district municipality, Kvecių village, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 139.67), a Toyota Yaris ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Toyota (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.66‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
