Drunk Skoda driver in crash with two other vehicles on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis road
On Friday, 21 November 2025, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 8.36), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia, a MAN TGX, a trailer/semi-trailer > 10 t and a Peugeot Partner. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Skoda (38 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.07‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
