On Monday, 8 December 2025, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kretingos district municipality, on Žemaitės al. near No. 29, a Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 registered in Great Britain hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 74-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (30 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
