On Thursday, 11 December 2025, in the evening at 19:40, in Kaunas, on Europos pr., at the junction with Prietilčio street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW X5 3.0D and a Volkswagen Touran. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
