On Friday, 19 December 2025, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on L. Ivinskio street, at the junction with Siūlų street, a collision with one vehicle turning left and the other right occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf Plus and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
