On Monday, 2 December 2013, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kaunas, on Šauklių street near No. 3, at the junction with Jonavos g., a Solaris Urbino 12 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 74-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Solaris (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
